Roman Procurator Coins

When Israel transitioned to Roman rule, Israel was ruled by Herod the Great and later by his sons and grandsons. There were 6 different Herod rulers in all over the two centuries. When Ceasar Agustus removed Herod Archelaus from power, his domain was then ruled by procurators (governors) assigned from Rome.  Many of these rulers minted their own coins.
