This coin was minted by Herod I, also known as Herod the Great during his reign from 40-4 BC. This coin has a tripod table on one side, and the other side shows a portion of what would have been the closed diadem cross. Most of Herod the Great's tripod coins were crudely made and usually do not reveal lots of beautiful characteristics. This coin has very nice contrasting patina and the visible images are clear.
